The author presents his unique "block by block" method--rather than playing a composition from beginning to end, the piece is broken down into component parts, such as a complicated intro, main theme, connecting runs, etc. These components are further divided into smaller "workable blocks" which are practiced separately then, like a puzzle, reassembled to form the complete composition. These workable blocks can be strung together to form an endless loop which can be seamlessly repeated. With practice, these short phrases can be combined to form new and larger blocks. Performance notes are presented for each piece in the book. Written in notation and tablature.
