'Jazz Club' provides a fun introduction to jazz which is designed to take away the 'cold feet' many people feel before they begin improvisation and theory of jazz.

Musicians start by playing along with 10 groovy pieces in a range of styles which help them get used to the 'sound' of jazz. Solos, chords and rhythms are fully notated however players can improvise or make up their own accompaniments to the play-alongs, if they prefer.

The pieces are presented in 5 chapters, each on a jazz-specific theme. Further exercises and play-alongs are provided on jazz phrasing, tempo & rhythm, improvisation, form & effects for those who want to delve deeper into these topics. This edition takes the music as its starting point and works back to the theory, rather than the other way round.
