Art of Drumming - A life behind the drums
This book is a derived from a career spanning over three decades of playing drums and touring the world. Steve White has put together a collection of his favourite exercises and rudiment combinations that he has worked on and is still practicing to continually improve and develop his drumming.
In collaboration with UK drummer Russ Tarley, they have collated all the elements to form a practical approach to using these concepts to help any drummer develop their skillset around the kit.
This includes Steve’s favourite rudiment applications, systems for developing coordination, independence and time, studies in rhythm, linear phrasing, transcriptions of a solo performance and famous studio recordings.
Lessons and exercises all drummers can take something from and inspire their own daily practice and performance, from playing live and in the studio, to the practice room and teaching.
Included in this book:
• Over 3500 exercises
• Rudiment applications
• Co-ordination and independence development
• Time Systems
• Linear Phrasing
• Exclusive and rare photos spanning Steve’s career
• Live solo transcription
• Full studio recording transcriptions from classic Paul Weller albums
