This book is designed to help you build the skills needed to crank out the honky tonk sound heard from Texas dance halls to the streets of Bakersfield. The licks are broken into stylistic categories, such as the country shuffle, honky tonk, boogie, steel guitar sounds, chicken pickin', cajun style, truck driving songs, train songs, the Bakersfield Sound, etc.

Musical concepts, such as pentatonic scales, 3rds, 6ths, and adding chromatic and blue notes, are presented to enhance your enderstanding to the point of creating your own licks. Licks are strung together to create solos that play over 19 of the most commonly found chord progressions in country music. Each solo is performed with a full band on the accompanying audio tracks. Fancy kick-offs and endings are presented in addition to the licks and solos.
